Freedom in Christ Counseling LLC

My name is Josh, and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2014 and am currently independently licensed in Ohio and Tennessee. Having worked for a variety of agencies and in multiple states, it has been a blessing to be able to help and support people across all spectrums of life. Even before starting my counseling career in 2014, I have felt an increasing desire to help men grow in their relationship with Jesus to truly find freedom and become positive Godly role models to those around them. Many offer counseling from a place of strength, they'll say "you are strong enough" or "you have all you need." I believe that biblical counseling starts from a point of weakness in that we are not strong enough on our own. We must first understand our need for Jesus and his sacrifice for our sins. John Piper explains the gospel this way, "The gospel is the news that Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died for our sins and rose again, eternally triumphant over all his enemies, so that there is now no condemnation for those who believe, but only everlasting joy." In order to help in this goal of finding freedom, I offer counseling that is distinctly biblical and that also leverages evidence based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Models that can be in direct alignment with scripture and the many ways the bible offers us to grow closer to Christ. Working together with Jesus as our guide, I am certain that we can find the freedom you have been seeking.
